The Buffalo Racquet Club is seeking part-time summer support.
Founded in 1954, BRC is a red clay tennis club located in the heart of Kenmore. We are a unique, member-owned and operated nonprofit organization, which means we rely heavily on committed volunteers and board members to keep the club running smoothly each season. That said, we do need some additional hands in the summer months.
We are looking for someone reliable and self-directed to assist with groundskeeping and court condition reporting.
Responsibilities (in order of priority):
1. Grounds Maintenance
• Weekly lawn mowing
• Occasional hedge trimming
• Sidewalk edging
• General upkeep of club grounds
2. Morning Court Condition Checks
• Available a minimum of 4 mornings per week (5 preferred)
• Arrive by 7:30am
• Inspect clay court conditions
• Report status to Court Manager
• Update club phone system and social media
• Occasional light court prep (sweeping with golf cart, lining)
Morning tasks should take approximately 30–60 minutes per day. All training will be provided on how to determine if courts are playable.
3. Miscellaneous Handyman Tasks (as needed)
• Power washing porch areas
• Minor plumbing repairs (toilets, sinks, showers)- possible, desired, but not required.
• Basic maintenance tasks using common tools
Scope will depend on skillset.
Position Details
• 1099 Independent Contractor
• Flat bi-weekly payment ranging from $350–$600, depending on skillset and availability
