You can either use a paper tray you have for the exact same printer (since this printer is widely available on both Amazon and at Best Buy, I thought someone out there may already have a printer like this). Maybe you would find this printer to be cleaner and newer looking than yours. You could then simply try your paper tray and see if it is compatible.
Another option would be to contact Canon to purchase just the paper tray for this model, or send the entire printer back and ask them to repair it. I will give the person purchasing this the original box with styrofoam "corners". This should ease the burden of returning it to Canon for repair without having to buy a box and packing materials.
The printer is very clean and new looking. I did use the scanner a couple times to download things to my computer, and it worked perfectly. The ink cartridges always worked fine in this machine. I have removed my half-used ink cartridges to install inside a new printer. (I liked this printer enough to purchase the exact same one a second time!) The printer takes Canon ink cartridges CL-261 Color, and PG-260 Black.
