I’m selling a very rare 2002 Martin HPD-41 guitar. The HP stands for herringbone pearl which is what the body purfling and rosette are trimmed with.
This is the first 41 series Martin to have forward shifted scallopedbracing which didn’t become a standard feature until 2018. 109 of these were built from 1999 to 2002 and this is one of 8 built in 2002.
I am the second owner. Sale includes all paper work including the original receipt and a copy of the Martin catalogue page.
The guitar is in excellent condition for its age. It had a pickup which was removed so I had an oversized bone end pin with abalone inlay made. I also installed a custom Holter pick guard. There are some minor areas along the back strip where the finish is lifting a bit. It hasn't changed in the 3 years that I've owned the guitar. I've tried to show it as best I could in photo #9.
Includes a brand new vintage style hard shell case.
Specs not ot included on the catalogue page are:
MLO Neck Shape
Nut width is 1-1/16”
Scale Length -24.4”
String Spacing at the Nut is
2-1/8”
