This unique 1970s lamp was designed by Gregory Van Pelt using stacked cardboard between two pieces of birch plywood for the base, with stacked conical cardboard for the lampshade, allowing the light to diffuse through the layers.
The condition of the cardboard appears to be perfect, with natural textures adding visual interest.
The white plastic shade liner is all intact with just a bit of gapping at the top (see photo) and typical wrinkling along the seam.
This lamp exudes warmth through the texture and color of the cardboard and makes a statement about the period in which it was designed.
