This very rare 1975 Peter Max print, SUZIN, was originally in a frame which covered the margins.
When I removed it, I found that it was a very rare and very early signed version of the 1973 acrylic painting SUZIN.
Peter Max used this as a poster titled LIVE for National Suicide Prevention Week, May 18-24, 1975.
The print is PENCIL SIGNED in the lower right of the image “PETER MAX 75”. In small print under that is “Peter Max 1975”. In the margin under that is printed: “Painting 38” x 48” Acrylic on Canvas Peter Max, 1973”.
There are many later versions of this same image with added flourishes and embellishments (see photo), also signed and dated, but this is an exact image of the original 1973 painting (which I personally prefer) from his “tribute to women and their beauty”.
The print is on thin poster paper and has yellow stains in the upper margins, but the image is in excellent condition.
The print measures 15” x 21”, the image measures 12” x 15”.
