Uses one C battery (not included). Plant not included. You could put anything in there, mail, keys, artificial flowers, little treasures, etc.
The clock face is a hand painted tile inserted into the wood frame.
The name of the person who made it is written on the back, but I can’t make it out. The only thing I can make out is the date 12/25/83.
