You are looking at a one of a kind The Fisher amplifier. This was once a console amp that has been pulled, converted to a stand alone and will rival many tube amps. The produces a sound that just makes you smile.
Now for what was performed -
Complete recap. Look at photos of underneath and you’ll see them all replaced. The power caps were rebuilt underneath. The two power diodes were also replaced.
Converted to a stand alone. What is involved here was:
Replacing a couple resistors and adding a chassis mounted resistor.
Ran power out the back as originally it was ran out the front. Heavy gauge power cord with a ground.
Power switch was added as this would have been turned on from the tuner.
Power light was added which is nice and bright. Nice to know it is powered on so you don’t go touching a hot tube.
Speaker jacks (can accept banana plugs) were ran out the back.
RCA input jacks were also relocated and ran out the back.
A custom screen printed plate displaying the model and logo was put in place where the old RCA jacks were and tuner connector.
Solid stained oak was put on front and rear of unit to dress it up along with feet to sit up. Holes were drilled in the front trim to maintain the venting Fisher required. A nice logo was placed on the front.
To cap it all off, brand new Tung sol 7591A tubes were installed. This is a matched quad and the best modern tubes available. The 12AX7 are The Fisher tubes that passed testing with flying colors.
The amp looks like something that could have and should have been offered from The Fisher.
I have over 25 hours into this along with good money making sure I used the best parts available.
