I recommend bring Tow Straps, to do a Tandem Tow behind a vehicle, due to the Transmission fluid leaking on top of the Catalytic Converter. Just safer to tow it, vs risking an issue with fluids on Hot surfaces.
This was my Ultimate “Winter Beater”. It has 4 New Tires and this thing is a BEAST in the snow with TRUE 4 Wheel Drive.
Equipped with 4 New GoodYear “Wrangler ALL TERRAIN ADVENTURE” (KEVLAR) 245/70 R16
(I was going to sell the Tires & Rims for $800. alone!)
With these new Tires, it is like Claws in the Snow. One of the best Winter Vehicles I have ever had.
Is she pretty? NOPE! The body has seen its day.
But she Fires right up, And if you simply need a vehicle to get you from Point A, to Point B, then here ya go.
I had plans for this project to do a 3” Suspension Lift, Fab up an Overland style Bumper to fix the rear damage, and some other ideas, but I have too many other Projects on my plate, so I have to part with this one.
If you are Mechanically Inclined, and know how to fix things, then this is a great option.
The main issue right now is- It needs a Transmission Cooler line repaired. It is leaking Transmission fluid from somewhere High up on the passenger side, and I dont know how to get at it to do a line ‘Splice In” repair, or what is involved to fix this.
It also needs a new Emergency Brake Cable.
Other than that, I can honestly say She should be good.
If you are searching for a Winter Beater vehicle, and know how to fix stuff, Then here ya go….
CASH only.
*also has Brand New Fuel Pump & Lock ring installed. Tank was lowered, Pump replaced, and Brand new Tank Strap Brackets!
I have watched several videos on YouTube of how to replace the Transmission Cooler Lines.
It looks pretty capable for any "Driveway Mechanic". The complete Lines Kit cost about $75 bucks, and there is also a "Simple Method" of cutting an Access Flap, through the interior Hump on Passenger Side floor, to get at the connection point. (search Youtube)
