She ain't pretty anymore, 26 years old! The good, mechanically this machine was always well taken care of, ( and I can give you the mechanics shop where the mechanics themselves will tell you " Oh, anything went wrong with that vehicle, he was on it ) and it was always just an amazing machine. It was given to me by my dad before he passed away, which is why I did my best to keep it mechanically sound. I wasn't willing to give it up easily as thousands of dollars were pumped into it over the last past few years.
Okay this is what happened during my last visit to the mechanics. I had the back valve gasket replaced. When the mechanics did that they noticed the pcv valve was shot so that was replaced as well. Well, it turned out the new pcv valve was also bad and by the time I found out the van started smoking blue and white smoke during start-ups. Now that may mean piston rings. I can't tell you if one went bad or all 3 in the back part of the engine. However, what I can tell you is the scanner says "Engine running too lean bank one, code op171.
So what I did was I changed the pcv valve with a new one ( Tested it before installing it. )
Purchased the following parts
Mass Air Flow Sensor ( Installed )
Throttle Position Sensor ( Not yet installed )
Mass Air Pressure Sensor ( Not yet installed )
Idle Air Control Valve ( Not yet installed )
It has brand new $60.00 set of Spark Plugs.
Brand new Spark Plug Wires
Newer Back intake manifold gaskets
Newer back valve cover.
The parts that haven't been installed yet is due to the fact I want to work and install everything at once. However, when you purchase things off of ebay all items are delivered at different times because of buying from anywhere and everywhere.
Here's the part why I just won't give up on her.
Since it was purchased 8 years ago this vehicle has NEVER left me stranded anywhere!
I have always used Castrol Full Synthetic Oil, and NO JOKE, I will even let you take off the front valve cover, so you can see with your own eyes how clean all the gears are. There is no sludge! None at all!
Which is why I LOVE Castrol Full Synthetic Oil.
Now the van isn't much to look at, and it has some rust, but for whoever, fixes the smoking problem, this van will keep on going and going and going.
It has approximately 220,000 miles. I also have extra new parts like a, fly wheel, door handles full set, fuel filter, extra I think they're tie rods, ball joints, and a few other goodies. Those parts aren't on the vehicle because it doesn't need them yet. What happened was ebay has specials sometimes, and you can buy double what you need for a low price, so I was always left with new spare parts. I also have a spare computer for it as well.
I have it listed as parts only but it really should be fixed so someone can enjoy it.
