GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT STOHL ENVIRONMENTAL LLC:

1.OUR BUSINESS: Stohl Environmental is a successful and growing environmental consulting firm specializing in inspection, remediation design, and project monitoring for Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint, Microbial Contamination, and PCB 's, as well as ASTM Phase I and Phase II projects. We have been in business in WNY since 1988.

2.OUR CLIENTS: Our client list is centered on service to some of WNY's largest Architectural Firms, over 70 public school districts, The NY Power Authority, developers, and municipalities including the City of Buffalo, Erie County, The Town of Hamburg, The City of Niagara Falls, The City of Jamestown, and others.

3.CURRENT STAFF SIZE: 50 professionals

4.LOCATION: Our office is located at 4169 Allendale Blvd in Blasdell, NY. (Almost across the street from Erie Community College South)

5.Our website: www.stohlenvironmental.com. We're at that time of year when we need to identify and hire staff for summer projects (Interns) as well as potential full time staff.

STAFFING NEEDS:

1.SUMMER INTERNS: at least 12 Interns to assist as Project Air Monitors for the Summer of 2018.

2.FULL TIME: - 2 to 5 individuals with potential for long-term full time. (Substantial training and expense will be devoted to staff who are selected for Full Time employment. We're willing and able to invest in the right candidates.)

Details regarding the positions:

1.Entry level positions- Summer Internship or Entry Level Full time

2.Start as a Project and Air Monitor for asbestos, lead-based paint, or microbial contamination abatement/remediation projects, including public schools, utility companies and municipalities. In this position, you will be trained to monitor and evaluate the performance of the abatement/remediation contractor.
You will be provided with extensive classroom and hands-on training that will give you a sound understanding of both Federal and NYS regulations, project management, and an understanding of the technical requirements for monitoring and evaluation an abatement/remediation project.

3.Past Experience of Summer Interns - Interns at Stohl Environmental LLC have assisted in monitoring summer projects for the past 30 years. Overwhelmingly, most Interns have said that the experience has been valuable in developing their technical knowledge and people skills. Additionally, they have gained valuable experience that has advanced them on their career paths. Each year a number of the Interns who have completed their college studies have stayed with Stohl Environmental and have advanced to additional responsibilities and compensation levels.

4.Responsibilities -significant, including monitoring compliance of abatement contractors with Specification documents and regulations, as well as air monitoring.

5.Requirements - To be considered for a Full Time permanent position, we generally require completion of at least 2 years of college. We need intelligent, self-confident, assertive staff, with the ability to read and understand Project Specification Documents. As to the technical training and NYS Certification, we have a well-developed program that is approved by New York State.
Interns should have finished at least 1 year of college, have a reliable automobile to travel to local project sites, and be able to work independently.

6.Start date - early June - start with a week of classroom training- (possibility of a later start date if someone has a scheduling conflict)

7.Training - 2 levels - technical training, we pay for a 5 day NYSDOH certification class that will allow you to be certified(licensed) as a NYS Project and Air Monitor. Classroom training is followed by on-site training with an experienced Project Monitor. Then back to the classroom at the Stohl Environmental office for additional training.

8.Miscellaneous- Pay - Interns generally start at $12/hour range depending upon experience and credentials; plus time and half for OT. Full time staff start at a compensation level commensurate with their education and experience.
·Mileage reimbursement for travel to project sites
·Working hours/Schedule - We need people who are flexible. Whenever abatement is happening at a client site, a Project Monitor must be there. This means that daily start/stop times can vary. One week you might work 8AM-5PM, and the next day 3PM to midnight. Some projects require OT on short notice.
·Automobile Required - Most assignments are within 25 to 30 miles of our office. Applicants are required to have a reliable vehicle to commute to and from project sites.
