Regents Park near Big Tree
boat type: kayak/canoe/SUP
propulsion type: human
condition: like new
engine hours (total):
length overall (LOA): 10
make / manufacturer: Necky
model name / number: RIP 10.5
The Kayak model is a Necky RIP 10.6 and I have upgraded the seat to the top-of-the-line Necky ACS seat which is padded and adjustable in multiple ways. The kayak is 10’-6” long by 28” wide. The cockpit is 19.5” wide by 46.5” long and Necky gives the weight as 43 pounds.

The boat has a molded-in skeg type feature at the back and it tracks extremely straight even in the wind. It is very stable and nearly as easy to get in and out of as a sit-on-top, but much lighter in weight. This is about as light a boat as you can get without going to a much more delicate material, but you still get the durability of Necky plastic.

The package also includes:
• Seals Splash Deck – I rarely used it, but it’s good if you paddle in the rain.
• 240 CM Werner Camino Fiberglass blade, bent carbon shaft paddle. This is a bent shaft or crankshaft paddle that weighs 36 ounces at 240 CM. The 240 CM length is appropriate for a boat this wide. (This is a $500 paddle)
• Paddleboy kayak cart and associated bungees. I carted the boat from my truck bed right into the water then bungeed the cart to the rear deck. This is paddling without lifting the boat!!
• Stohlquist Large/ExLarge PFD with whistle attached, plus whatever is in the pockets.
• SOSpenders inflatable PFD.
• Dewatering Pump and dewatering sponge
• Dry bag with belt – good for phone, wallet, keys, small stuff. Can be worn or belted to the boat.
• New paddle leash.
• Lasso Security Cable – Good for cabling the boat to a rack, or to a tree if on vacation.
• Wall rack for garage storage. Store on edge to prevent distortion.
• The remaining 303 Aerospace Protectant I have left. It’s sunscreen for boats.
• The piece of carpeting I used to carry the boat in my truck bed. The 10’-6” boat length fits truck beds without any additional racking. My truck had a 6-foot bed and the rug fit from the front to just over the edge of the tailgate.

I bought all this equipment new and have most of the receipts so you can see it’s not stolen. This was my spare boat to take a friend paddling for a long time. It became my only boat six years ago. Since then, it’s been out a few times a year. It’s a great boat for a beginner or anyone who wants to paddle without the hassle of worming their way in and out of a tiny cockpit. With the huge cockpit, it would be good for fishing, taking a dog along, or bringing a small child. My 65-pound doodle fit easily at the front of the cockpit. Necky and Current Designs are the premier manufacturers of plastic boats. Necky went out of business a few years ago because the market shifted to cheaply made boats that can be purchased for far less money.

It's only for sale because I have developed too many joint problems to continue paddling. I don’t need to sell it so I won’t be discounting the price or selling the pieces separately. This is all premium equipment an it’s the complete package of everything you need to paddle.

Everything is in outstanding condition. The bottom of the boat looks better than some boats I see in stores. It has been stored in my garage in a kayak rack unless I was paddling it.

Because of the scams, reply with a phone number if you are interested. The sale will be cash, or possibly Venmo if my wife is around to do it.
