Silverplate Candleabra Pair of Wilcox International >5 Arm>Excellent
condition: excellent
I bought this silverplate candleabra pair of Wilcox International years ago but now I am downsizing> many times this pair graced the dining room table for special dinners> they are a 5 arm candleabra but can be converted to a single candlestick depending on what is wanted> each stick has the "half circle" mark on the bottom with N 8552> this reflects that this mark was introduced in 1921 and registered in 1923 > the factory closed in 1941 because of metal shortage > the sticks are circa 1921-1941 = at least 80 years old and for their age they have been well taken care of > there are no dents or breaks inthe silverplate > there are a few minor scratches on the bottom>they are quite ornate on the bottom , middle and at the top> the base itself is in a column design > there is a need for repolishing since there is some tarnishing that adds to the distinctive look of this pair> all the "bobeches" ( collar at the top of the stick to catch the candle drippings) are there> the stick itself is 10 1/2" high and the base is 4 1/2" > the width of the 5 arm unit is 11" and the total height with the 5 arm unit is 20"> the pair are in excellent condition for their age and make a strong statement for that special dinner as a pair or a single
