Lovely use of light and shadow here. Senior man relaxing while potting geraniums. Measures 47 X 37. Gold painted frame. This has been in my family since I was born, hanging over my aunt's fireplace mantle. Downsizing everything these days and I'd love to see this go to someone who will enjoy it and maybe even pass it along to family. I tried to take photos in various lighting so you can see how it changes depending on where you display it. Generally, unless it's in a sunny spot, it tends to lean toward a darker hue.
The painting used to have an identification card that titled this "My Friend Larry" but I'm afraid I can't find it - you can trust my memory, though! The surname of the artist is Quackenbush, we know he was related to my uncle but we never got more information as my uncle passed suddenly years ago. We've tried to research it with little success.
This is something that has intrinsic value - it's worth what you feel it's worth! I feel it's worth 250 given how beautiful it is but I will accept reasonable offers, just not extreme lowball offers! I'm sure you understand.
The gold painted frame is meant to look swiped with paint as you can see in the closeup.
Nice family in Kenmore. We have sold many items here in the past and now have more things to offer.
Many more items added in the next few days.
