The apartment also features several heritage or vintage elements: glass-fronted built-in china cabinet off the dining room; built-in cupboards and drawers in hallway; ornamental fireplace in living room. The living room also has the original architectural windows. All exterior windows have storm/screen windows as well.
Each unit has its own hot water heater and its own boiler for the gas-fired hot water heating system. In-suite thermostat allows you to select your temperature preference.
The building is on a bus route and close to banks, convenience store, day cares, drugstores, restaurants, and more. It is also set back from the street and surrounded by landscaped areas, including a patio at the rear. The landlord practices environmentally-friendly gardening. Rather than manicured lawns - since lawn grass disturbs the pH of the soil - we have seedums and myrtle groundcovers; we also have plants for pollinators, suuch as Yarrow and Salvia, along with native cone flowers. Herbicides and pesticides are rarely used. Building is safe and residents enjoy the protection of 24/7 camera security. Local zoning does allow some work-from-home options; please inquire.
The building is actively managed by the owner. We have a full team of handyman, plumber, heating specialist, electrician and others to assist with maintenance. The landlord actively participates in the Landlord Credit Bureau, so your on-time rental payments help build a track record of shelter payments on your credit report.
Rent includes water, trash, storage locker and appliances and one parking space in the garage. Tenants pay their own gas heat and own electricity. Security deposiit required with application; first month's rent is due when you sign the lease. Pet policy allows one cat. Refundable pet deposit is $250. Lease is usually for one-year; landlord may agree to do terms other than 12 months (please inquire).
