I just recently moved back to Buffalo and I am looking for Bluegrasser's to jam with and see what happens from there. I have played in a bluegrass band in Portland, OR for the past 5 years steadily gigging, I play the mandolin on stage. I am working on my rhythm guitar and I also sing lead and harmony. Now I am looking to connect with the bluegrass
community here in WNY and do what I love doing best. Playing Bluegrass music.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are a unique group of musicians who have just started playing together but are working hard, and moving quickly. We are influenced by older Soul music, funk, jazz, etc. but are also covering an old Americana country song, and a little-known Hendrix tune.

Playing without a drummer is no good, so we've just been jamming over some hip-hop beats on the old drum machine. Drum machines are fine, in that they don't need to lay down and rest after playing a song, and they also don't need to take multiple blunt breaks during practice.

We're liking how our stuff is sounding with funky hip-hop beats under it, so if you have this kind of kick/strut to your playing, we'd love to hear from you. Right now we meet around the UB South Campus on Saturdays. Eventually it would be cool to play out as a group that has a fresh sound, pays attention to vocal work, possibly uses live samples, and is professional on and off stage. If this sounds like ya thing, ya know what to do.

Right now we consist of a seasoned Guitar Player/Vocalist and Drummer.

We Have Practice space and a wide spectrum of music we appreciate and hope to create our own.

Our influences and playing styles consist of Blues,Jam Bands,Reggae,Folk,Jazz/Fusion,Rock, and many more and we hope to find musicians that are open minded
and dedicated to music.

Usually practice on Friday nights but we will work around your schedule too

The Details:
I've decided I would like to form an a cappella group for when I am home on holiday. I am currently in college and am proud to be in a prominent group on campus and throughout NY. My co-director also runs (and is the creator) of an a cappella group on her campus.
I have an extensive knowledge of music and am the main arranger for my college group. The majority of our arrangements would be originals of top 40 hits (Katy Perry, Jason Derulo, Carrie Underwood, etc.)
Rehearsals would be intensive because of time constraints, but also very rewarding. I plan on having a setlist of about six songs hopefully learned and performable after three rehearsal days.
The ability to read music is not necessary, but desired. A lot of the music you would be learning on your own and rehearsal time would be spent putting parts together and perfecting the group sound.
If this sounds like something you are interested in, please e-mail me! My co-director and I will be holding auditions within a couple weeks. My hope is to hold quick auditions, rehearse immediately, and do some gigs for a few weeks during Winter Break.
This is unpaying, as most of the performances would most likely be for free.
The intention of this group is for fun only! I want to bring a cappella home with me over my breaks and what's a better way than to start my own group?
