Electronic and Engineering Technicians are responsible for performing functions associated with manufacturing operations in either laboratory or manufacturing settings. The candidate will conduct tests on RF and digital assemblies/subassemblies using assorted test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, network analyzers, digital voltmeters), technical databases and electronic schematic diagrams to isolate and troubleshoot printed circuit board (PCB) malfunctions to the component level.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED with minimum 4 years electronics working experience required OR Associates Degree in Electronics with 2 years electronics working experience required
Recent college graduates welcome
Must be able to troubleshoot to component level on radio communication equipment
Positions are on a one year contract in Rochester, NY
An interview and testing are requirements for placement
Available Shifts
2nd Shift Monday thru Thursday - 3:00 pm to 1:30 am or possibly 3:30 pm to 2:00 am
3rd Shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 am to 6:30 pm
4th Shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 pm to 6:30 am (shift would end Monday am)
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 5+ years hardware design experience; must have high speed board design, routing and digital design experience. Knowledge of or experience with PCIe, VHDL and logic design are preferred. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
Responsible for evaluating electronic parts and components through a comparison of performance specifications to device datasheets, test and evaluation of component samples, prototype testing, using analog and digital test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, analysis and reporting of test results, design and fabrication of test circuits and test fixtures for the evaluation of prototype hardware, and facilitating the release of new products, hardware assemblies, and firmware into production. Participates in the testing of radio systems, as well as assisting with the configuration management of HW and SW baselines.
Requirements:
Experience in design/development engineering, can interpret schematics, is familiar with test and debug of microprocessor or DSP based digital circuits. Experienced with configuration management systems. FPGA programming and experience with hardware troubleshoot for digital, analog and RF circuits, a plus.
Capable of performing circuit board modifications using SMT and Through Hole technology
Excellent communications skills, written and verbal. Team oriented individual with proven experience as a liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing.
Special Skills Required (i.e. Microsoft Word, Troubleshoot to component level, etc.):
Electronic CAD experience, Mentor Graphics preferred. Programming experience in VB, Lab View, or C a plus. Analog background including experience with DC power supplies and RF power amplifiers a plus. Basic hardware troubleshooting ability with analog and RF circuits a plus.
Basic knowledge of networking and wireless technology a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
- Solve recurring manufacturing processing problems in the regular production.

- Establish baseline production rates, labor and equipment, for the various products at different stages of the manufacturing process.
- Implement procedures to increase productivity of both labor and equipment.

- Preparation of layouts
- Brainstorm new product designs, prepare prototypes, and develop workable manufacturing processes around those designs.
- Manage development efforts from conception through successful transfer of the product to a manufacturing process.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. M.S. Preferred
Experience working on Auto CAD and Pro E softwares

Essential Job Functions:
-Fabrication of mechanical three view parts drawings.
-Participate in conceptual equipment design complying with applicable ANSI standards.
-Update and maintain standard parts drawing inventory.
-Component research and catalog component selection.
-Fabricate drawings for parts to be manufactured from bar stock, incorporating bend allowances
-Establish Bill of Materials.
-Assist Senior Engineering staff as needed.
Minimum Requirements
2 year degree or Vocational training preferred. High School diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience considered.
Abilities Required
Must be proficient with AutoCAD release 2000 or newer. (Solid modeling experience a plus)
Electrical knowledge a plus.
Must work both independently and in a team atmosphere,
Work overtime as needed.
