A Limited Edition, fine art print of the Steamer CANADIANA by renowned marine artist Raymond Massey. The print depicts the crowded passenger steamer departing it's berth for the run to Crystal Beach sometime during the summer of 1939.
In 1974 the Lower Lakes Chapter of the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society commissioned an oil painting of the Steamer CANADIANA by a young Buffalo artist named Raymond Massey. Although it was his first marine painting, the image burst forth from the canvas with an energy, vibrance, and color which made his current success a forgone conclusion.

Many enthusiasts who saw the Massey painting asked if a copy would be made available. In response to these requests, the Lower Lakes Marine Historical Society, the successor to the (former) Lower Lakes Chapter, decided to publish a fine art lithograph of the painting.
In cooperation with Mr. Massey, the Society selected the finest 80 weight, acid free, 100 per cent rag paper and a six color, maximum color separation printing process, in order to produce a nine hundred (900) issue, hand signed, and Limited Edition print. Although Mr. Massey's prints currently sell for substantially more in art galleries across the country, we have tried to keep the price low so that it may be affordable to the maximum number of enthusiasts who remember and cherish the Crystal Beach Boat.

- An unmounted Limited Edition fine art lithograph print of the CANADIANA,

What is a Limited Edition art print?
A Limited Edition art print is produced from an original art work. It is reproduced in a stated limited edition quantity under the close supervision of the artist who insures that only the very highest standards of reproduction are accepted in producing a top quality "Limited Edition" print. Once the edition has been printed, the plates are destroyed and the print is copyrighted. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist himself.
What is a signed and remarqued Limited Edition print?
Occasionally, an artist will add a "remarque" in addition to signing and numbering the limited edition print. A remarque is a small original sketch near the artist's signature. Remarqued prints are worth more than the other signed and numbered prints. Usually a small percentage of prints from each edition are set aside for artist remarquing.
How to order:
The price of the Limited Edition, hand signed, and numbered CANADIANA print is two hundred dollars ($200.00USD).
A hand signed, numbered, and remarqued print is six hundred and and fifty dollars ($650.00USD).
In either case, please add appropriate sales tax (8.75%) if you are a New York State resident.
If you are in the local Western New York area, you may pick up your print at our museum at 66 Erie Street, Buffalo, New York.
